I distinctly remember being 13 years old when Princess Diana had just died, the world was mourning a princess, while my teen brain was trying to find answers to so many questions about her life, the people in it, the media frenzy and how she ended up in that tunnel chased by paparazzi. Why did she not want to be queen one day and leave that life behind? As a child I didn’t quite understand the nuances of relationships, marriage, media scrutiny, infidelity or anything else, but her death certainly had me wanting to understand the why of so much around her life and every such other.
When both my parents developed serious illnesses, what started with finding treatment to their medical ailments ended up in me digging deeper into the emotional pain they were carrying.
I have always wanted to understand what happens to us as people that makes us engage with the world the way we do. My brother would always joke that I was “born 60 years old.” What I now know is that he was referring to my innate need, even as a child to understand what happened to someone that made them behave a certain way. While everyone would be admonishing a bully at school for being a “bad child,” I would find myself thinking, what was hurting him that he found the need to hurt someone else?
It’s been a long road of a few careers before I ended up here. I have never underestimated the power of being understood, loved, heard and seen. It is core to our existence as humans and core to us feeling our best.
Our sessions are designed to feel like a conversation — one where you feel safe enough to open up, feel supported through every step of your journey, and gently guided towards real growth and progress using evidence backed approaches. I am not in charge, you are – I’m just holding your hand through the journey of getting to where you want to be.
My approach is person centered. Yes there are modalities – CBT, ACT, DBT, EFT, CPT, SFBT, EMDR, IFS… the list is endless, but in the end its about you who are sitting there in front of me, what you need in that moment and what will work for you. I could make the best Chicken-a-la-Kiev in the world or could have trained in the best culinary school to make it, but maybe you’re vegetarian and all you need right now is a bowl of yoghurt to calm your stomach, before you’re ready for a lavish meal. I could have the best degrees and courses under my belt but if I don’t have the heart and love that a grandmother has when she is cooking for her family, my food would be lacking. Empathy, unconditional positive regard and genuineness are Rogerian values that are my north star in every session.
You are the most important part of how I work, there is no one size fits all, and it’s all about me meeting you where you are and where you wish to be. It’s not about fixing you, it’s helping you be the version of yourself YOU wish to be.
Evidence based approaches I use and draw from are:
“People are just as wonderful as sunsets if you let them be. When I look at a sunset, I don’t find myself saying, ‘Soften the orange a bit on the right hand corner.’ I don’t try to control a sunset. I watch with awe as it unfolds.”
— Carl Rogers
Real experiences, real change
“With Anaitha, I can be, Me.
I am incredibly grateful for the transformative experience I’ve had with her. In just a few sessions, she has helped me gain clear insights into my childhood experiences and their impact on my daily life and behavior. Her high emotional intelligence creates a safe, non-judgmental space that helped in my self-exploration.
Through our sessions, I have not only identified the root causes of my behavioural patterns but also developed practical strategies to manage it effectively.
I highly recommend her services to anyone seeking a deeper understanding of themselves in a supportive and professional environment. Her ability to connect on a personal level while maintaining professionalism is truly remarkable.”
“Anaitha is an extremely knowledgeable, relatable and professional therapist.
I came to her with complex family dynamics to navigate and years of suppressed unhealed trauma from very specific events.
She gave me weekly homework to do and guided me through resources available to maximise my mental healing.
She listened, asked respectful yet provoking questions in a warm and safe environment.
She allowed me to process my emotions, identify my triggers and guide me with validation, empathy and encouragement in a way to enlightenment.
I feel in control of my emotions now, aware of my triggers and at peace with the past.
Anaitha helped me find closure to painful situations and gave me the tools to deal with future uncomfortable moments that may arise with clarity, understanding, rationality, confidence and self-acceptance.
Thank you for changing my life, Anaitha. I am forever grateful!”
“I cannot say enough about Anaitha and how she was able to help me work to heal from the trauma of an emotionally abusive relationship.
Anaitha is highly skilled and knowledgeable, but it is her compassion and genuine desire to make a difference that sets her apart from other therapists/counselors.
I never felt rushed or pushed in a direction, rather had the time and support to process, and was provided tools to help me with my goals during our sessions.
I would definitely recommend Anaitha to anyone looking for a strengths based, action focused, and compassionate therapist.”
Therapy is a collaborative, ongoing process
It is not designed to provide quick fixes or ready-made answers. Instead, it creates space to understand your experiences more deeply, reflect, identify patterns in how you think and respond, and begin working towards meaningful and lasting change. Anaitha’s approach is holistic — our life, who we are, what we choose, who we choose, our health are all significant. Every symptom has meaning that is telling us something. Situations and conditions don’t require a band-aid or a pill to feel better; they require a deep understanding of what we are dealing with in the first place, in order to find a way to solve for it.
While conversation is an important part of the process, the work goes beyond simply talking. Sessions are structured to help you reflect more clearly, build awareness, and develop practical and behavioural ways of responding to challenges.
There is no expectation to move faster than you are ready for. The pace remains steady, intentional, and guided by what feels manageable for you.
